Laser Hemorrhoids, Fistula and Pilonidal Sinus
Laser surgery is one of the relatively new methods used in the treatment of hemorrhoids. In this method, unlike hemorrhoid surgeries, cutting and sewing operations are not performed. The laser probe is inserted into the hemorrhoid area with a needle, and the process of burning and shrinking the hemorrhoid is done with the laser. It is an extremely effective method, especially in 1st to 3rd degree hemorrhoids, with a success rate of over 90%. After this day-to-day procedure, patients experience very little pain and return to their normal life quickly. Problems such as rectal stenosis, incontinence of bowel movements and wetting in the anus after hemorrhoid surgery do not appear after this procedure. By using the same laser probes, breech fistulas, pilonidal sinus (hair rotation) and hydradenitis can also be treated with laser.
Hemorrhoid Artery Ligation
This treatment method has been used successfully in recent years as a good alternative to standard hemorrhoid surgery in the treatment of more advanced hemorrhoids. By means of a specialized retractor containing a Doppler ultrasound probe advanced from the anus, hemorrhoidal vessels in the anus are detected and tied with the help of special sutures to reduce hemorrhoidal blood flow.
Laparoscopic Appendectomy (Closed Appendicitis Surgery)
Closed appendicitis surgery is performed by inflating the abdomen with gas through 3 trocar holes and using special tools accompanied by a camera. It takes 15-20 minutes on average. It is now practiced as a standard procedure around the world.
Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia (Closed Inguinal Hernia Surgery)
Closed inguinal hernia surgery is usually performed through 3 trocar holes. There are two different methods called TAPP and TEP. The TAPP method is performed by inflating the abdomen with gas. TEP method is applied by creating a tunnel between the layers of the abdomen and in front of the peritoneal membrane without inflating the inside of the abdomen. It is much more advantageous than open surgery, especially in bilateral inguinal hernias. Patients have less pain and return to normal life early. It is on the way to become the standard practice in the world, TEP is the more preferred method.
Laparoscopic Umbilical and Incisional Hernia (Closed Umbilical and Wound Hernia Surgery)
Laparoscopic umbilical or incisional hernia is performed by inflating with intra-abdominal gas through 3 or 4 trocar holes and using special tools with a camera. The hernia in the abdomen is resolved and fixed by using special patches under the peritoneum called the peritoneum. It is a preferred method especially in large hernias.
Laparoscopic Hiatal Hernia - Nissen (Closed Stomach Hernia Reflux Surgery)
Closed gastric hernia-reflux surgery is performed by inflating the abdomen with gas through 4 or 5 trocar holes, accompanied by a camera and special tools. The stomach is released between both pleura and pulled into the abdomen. The opening in the diaphragm is repaired with stitches or a patch. The anti-reflux mechanism, which is disrupted by making a pillow around the esophagus from the stomach, is re-established. It is a method applied as a standard in the world.
Laparoscopic Achalasia Surgery (Heller Myotomy and Antireflux Procedure)
Achalasia is a rare esophageal disease. Since there is no relaxation in the muscles at the junction of the esophagus and the stomach, patients have difficulty in swallowing. In closed surgery, using 4 or 5 trocars, the over-contracted muscles in the esophagus and stomach are cut. After the procedure, reflux is prevented by fundoplication to the anterior or posterior esophagus. It is a method used as a standard in the world.
